Good afternoon Big Bend Branch APWA Members,
This month’s meeting will be held on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, at 11:30 AM. The meeting will be held at the Leon County Public Works Building located at 2280 Miccosukee Rd.
This month we welcome speakers Mary Jane Haden and Jennifer Green from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Central Office. This presentation will be focused on Transportation Resilience – FAQ and Lessons Learned.
Mary Jane Hayden graduated from Florida State University in 2002. Since that time, she has worked in both the private sector and the public sector. She has been working in the FDOT Central Office since 2013 in various roles including project management, roadway criteria, pavement design, and most recently quality assurance. In addition to those roles, Mary Jane has been very involved in the Department’s resilience efforts over the past couple of years.
Jennifer Green, P.E., CPM, serves as the State Drainage Engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation Roadway Design Office. She has over 20 years’ experience, 13 years with the Department, working in both District 7 and Central Office. Ms. Green oversees the development of the FDOT Drainage Manual and the FDOT Drainage Design Guide. She earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master’s degree with an emphasis on water resources from the University of South Florida.
Lunch will be available for purchase to those members who RSVP by 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 3rd (.bigbendapwa@gmail.com ) The lunch will be coming from 4Rivers BBQ with your choice of sandwich. The meal will include all the condiments, drinks, chips, and a cookie. Please RSVP with your lunch choice. The cost for lunch is $15.00 per person.
