Good afternoon Big Bend Chapter APWA Members,
Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at 11:30 am for our next branch meeting. The meeting will take place in the T.P. Smith Waste Reclamation Facility located at 3805 Springhill Road. There is a limited capacity of 40 attendees for this meeting/tour, so please RSVP to reserve your spot.
Due to scheduling conflicts, this meeting will not take place on the typical first Thursday.
T.P Smith Waste Reclamation Facility provides sewage treatment services for Tallahassee, Florida, and the surrounding areas. The TPS facility is permitted to treat 26.5 million gallons per day (MGD) and the facility is capable of handling peak flows up to 53 MGD. The wastewater treatment process ensures public trust by protecting the health, welfare, and safety of our community and our precious national water environment. This meeting will consist of a short presentation with a tour of the facility.
Attire required for the meeting is closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a shirt with at least short sleeves.
Lunch will be available for purchase to those members who RSVP by 9:00 am Tuesday, October 11th. The sandwiches will come from Publix and the choices are Boars Head Board Room Box lunch featuring turkey or ham sandwiches with a deli side item, two cookies, and an iced tea, or a Boars Head Bold Chef Salad with a cookie and iced tea.
